MUST USE APPS AT SNU & IN SEOUL

Seoul is the capital of convenience. There are a total of 8-10 useful apps that you would need to use while attending SNU. I’ll be listing in the order of the picture provided below as I have it on my phone.

1) KakakoTalk: this is the most popular message app in South Korea. Most of your friends will ask for your Kakao ID than your phone number as many do not use iPhones

2) SNU APP: this app will give you information regarding everything about campus. You login with your SNU account and can check your schedule as well as check in for attendance.

3) SNU Campus Map: the SNU campus is so big it takes 20 minutes for the shuttle bus to make a circle. Having this app on your phone will be useful for when it’s the first week of school and you do not know your way around.

4) KakaoMap: when you download the SNU Campus Map and try to use the direction part it will ask you to download KakaoMap as well because that’s what the app uses. And GoogleMaps is not as good as KakaoMaps.

5) KakaoBus: this app just gives you the time of when the buses are coming. Like DaBus app in Hawaii.

6) KakaoMetro: like the KakaoBus app,but for trains. It will give you the fastest option first, but sometimes those have many transfers. So I usually choose the simple options, which that slightly longer but it’s better than transferring a lot.

7) KakaoT: is a taxi call app. So it’s like Uber but just for taxi. Uber does not work Korea. And taxis are cheap as well. I took a 20 minute ride to my grandmas house and it only cost me ~$10.

8) NAVER: is the Korean Google, so it will give you better results, the only con of it is that it’s all in Korean. Don’t worry, Google works fine in Korea.

9)Any food delivery app: food delivery in Korea is the best. I recommend to use when you are doing a picnic at HAN RIVER with friends. You can honestly order anything and they will deliver.

10) Picture Taking app: Koreans do not usually take pictures with the camera app, they like to use filter so you can download a picture app, but I just use my camera app. I think the picture quality is better and more natural.
