Applying for you Student Visa

July. 31. 2019

After finishing all your applications and you have finally received your Admissions Package from SNU, now you can apply for you student visa. Before going to the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea, make sure to have all the required documents ready.

1. Visa Application

- Download and print the application online or go to the Consulate

2. Admissions Package from SNU

- Notification of Acceptance - Certificate of Admission - SNU Business Registration Certificate 3. Bank Statement - To prove that you have enough funds 4. Valid passport 5. Passport Photo - Must show both ears and cannot show teeth

6. Official Transcript - Put in your request when the semester is over

7 Cost: $45 - Cash or money order, as other payments are not accepted

NOTE: Make sure to get this done as soon as your school send your Admissions Package as the documents the send have expiration dates, you may run into problems at the Consulate/with your application/photo, and a visa may take up to weeks to finish.

IMPORTANT: If you have Korean heritage or your parents once had or still have Korean citizenship, you may not be able to get a student visa. If you were born in America to one parent who was on a Green Card or was not an American citizen, you most likely have dual citizenship. Meaning you would need to get a Korean passport than a student visa. Make sure to call or visit the Consulate to know if you fall under this problem and figure out how to solve it.
